The most recent  issue of Liberal Education (a journal of the American Association of Colleges and Universities) is devoted to “Civic Engagement and Psychosocial Well-Being” (vol. 97, no 2). It includes an article by CIRCLE director Peter Levine entitled “What Do We Know about Civic Engagement?” Former CIRCLE advisory board member and frequent collaborator Barry Checkoway contributes the introductory article about the connection between civic engagement and psychosocial well-being. CIRCLE board member Constance Flanagan, with Matthew Bundick, writes on Civic Engagement and Psychosocial Well-Being in College Students. Former CIRCLE grantee and frequent co-author James Youniss’ article is on “Service, Public Work, & Respectful Public Citizens.” CIRCLE board member Shawn Ginwright contributes an article on “Hope, Healing, and Care: Pushing the Boundaries of Civic Engagement for African American Youth.” Ashley Finley of the AAC&U, who evaluates CIRCLE’s current project on the psychosocial wellbeing of Tufts students, writes on “Connecting the Dots: A Methodological Approach for Assessing Students’ Civic Engagement and Psychosocial Well-Being.” The remaining articles are also highly relevant to CIRCLE’s work.
