Last year, CIRCLE joined a network of organizations working on a campaign to mesh media literacy with elections and voting, called 22×20 – focused on the 22 million teens who will turn 18 between the 2016 and 2020 elections. The campaign is an effort to amplify and diversify teen voices, political expression, and media creation in the lead up to the 2020 election and beyond. We’re excited to share that the campaign is hiring a lead mobilizer!

The 22×20 campaign was the brainchild of The LAMP. A long-time media literacy leader based out of NYC, midway through 2017, The LAMP joined with CIRCLE, a national leader in civic education and youth voting, to co-lead the campaign. Together they are bringing their diverse knowledge, skills and networks to bear on supporting teen voices in the lead up to the 2020 election.

This part-time team member’s work will include:

  • Managing key aspects of 22×20 campaign to activate youth voice
  • Oversight of 22×20 Youth Fellowship, including participation in and planning fellow elements of possible September 2018 summit
  • Oversight of 22×20’s social media channels
  • Coordination of the activities of each Youth Fellow/Leader
  • Identification and outreach to new local media outlets in Youth Fellows’ media markets
  • Interacting with and understanding the needs of youth and the educators that serve them to inform 22×20 educator programming and materials

The full job listing can be found here. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply by June 25 in order to receive full consideration. The successful candidate will be compensated by The LAMP and supported by both organizations.
