Millennials Talk Politics: A Study of College Student Political Participation

College students in the United States are hungry for political conversation that is authentic, involves diverse views and is free of manipulation and “spin,” according to Millennials Talk Politics, a new report released on November 7th, 2007 by CIRCLE and The Charles F. Kettering Foundation. Nearly 400 students convened in 47 focus groups on 12 four-year college campuses across the country to discuss their civic and political attitudes and experiences.

you know, Arerica itself brings up in people such feelings as patriotism, wish to participate in countries life, to influece the development of important for country or for family events… so this intention to get interested in politics is somehow natural..

I can’t completely agree with you, Riley. Barack Obama has a patriotism problem . He sees an America in which the cup is half-empty. Is his America the same one most Americans think of as they wave flags and celebrate the Fourth of July?

But you know recent Government study has revealed that patriotism levels among youth in the country have declined significantly and if left unchecked, could lead to serious consequences for nation building…

Being hungry for political conversation is great, but an awful waste of time. I think people need to spend more time understanding business, health and real-world knowledge that can be used everyday to become stronger individuals.

I am a liberal Democrat, and I believe in the Progressive Platform. I believe it is a better way to better Government. Conservatism has only ran the Country into the ground. Let’s try something else, you can only beat a dead horse for so long.
